At this time of the Chinese Lunar New Year, it is also a time of gratitude and blessing. The Shaolin Temple of Canada is grateful to all the volunteers for their arduous work. When we volunteer our time and efforts, we gain strength and could help all beings.
During this special time of the Chinese Lunar News Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, a Dharma Assembly will be held to celebrate the festival as well as show our gratitude. There will be a potluck dinner on the New Year’s Eve. Please bring your family and friends with a vegetarian dish (please no onions, garlic or leeks). Moreover, there will be performances and a talent show.
From 9:30 to 11:00 in the morning of the New Year’s Day, we would like to invite all people of any denomination, Buddhist believers, volunteers as well as the community to gather together. During the Chinese Lunar New Year, we come together to pray for the Earth and all beings on it. We will pray together for our spiritual purification, for good weather, and for a smooth year ahead with peace, prosperity, good fortune and wisdom.
